Marina + Angel
Wedding at the Hermitage of Santiago and the Torre Loizaga estate, Biscay, Basque Country
A wedding in the North
We arrived at Torre Loizaga for the first time on a day that couldn't be more from here. Between mountains stalked by low clouds, we made out the wall on the other side of the hill. I'm speechless. I was invaded by an enormous desire to arrive now, and to be able to explore every corner and its light. And what light.
Upon our arrival, Marina was waiting for us, with that look of excitement, nerves and a terrible desire for what was coming. It didn't take us long to fall in love with her and the place.
If I had been able to freeze time, I would have spent hours photographing such a picture out of any museum. Marina in her Paredero Quirós transported us to another era. But at the moment when Amaia Laukiriza left her veiled, with that dim light that came in through the window. Silence fell and we simply admired the scene for a few seconds.
Meanwhile, Angel was enjoying himself with his family in the beautiful library, where the scenes of manners took over those moments.
His ceremony was held in a small nearby hermitage, in the Hermitage of Santiago, which was hidden among the trees waiting to be invaded by the laughter and conversations of his guests, who were taking refuge from the imminent rain.
The rebellious day did not get their spirits to drop, enlivened with good music, mariachis and delicious food from the Mentidero Catering, they did not stop singing, dancing and enjoying every moment.
Shall we chat?
We would love to be part of your history and contribute our grain of sand to it.
And that all these incredible moments are collected as memories forever.
